Parents experience life at TCS first-hand

This past weekend, Trinity College School hosted a successful Parents Weekend in conjunction with Senior School Parent-Teacher Interviews. Over 260 parents visited the School, which proudly opened its doors for the three-day affair, giving parents the chance to experience a taste of life at TCS.

The weekend began Thursday, October 20th at noon, as parents enjoyed an excursion to Elmhirst Resort just north of Port Hope. Later that day, parents were invited to observe music practices in LeVan Hall or attend the Chapel Choir practice. On Friday, parents were welcome to attend chapel and then the TCS Parents’ Association and TCS Parents’ Guild hosted a coffee reception in the Guild Room; a tour of the School then followed. At noon, a welcoming reception and light lunch was served in the Davies Student Centre. This was followed by parents participating in Parent-Teacher Interviews throughout campus. From 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. parents enjoyed attending an informative Parents’ Advisory Council social including a university preparation information session.

Saturday began with more Parent-Teacher Interviews, followed by sporting events and the option to take a tour of the new Visual Arts Wing. Later in the afternoon, there was a candlelight reception in the Davies Student Centre with Jen Wen ’12 on the piano, followed by a delicious dinner in Osler Hall. During coffee and dessert, the evening ended with a speech from Kristopher Churchill, head of Senior School.

The weekend was enjoyed by all in attendance thanks to the many parent, student, staff and faculty volunteers who helped make this weekend a memorable one.
