IFOA brings the world to Port Hope
|Tuesday, 01 November 2011|
From the railroads of Bolivia to the villages of South Africa, this year’s IFOA Port Hope, held Saturday, October 29th at Trinity College School, offered evocative glimpses into the story worlds of four diverse and fascinating writers: Anita Rau Badami, Rana Dasgupta, Helen Oyeyemi and Emma Ruby-Sachs.
This event, organized by Furby House Books in downtown Port Hope, is the second annual offered as part of International Festival of Authors (IFOA) Ontario, the “travelling road show” run in conjunction with IFOA events held at Harbourfront in Toronto. Literary events are hosted in 20 locations throughout the province, and TCS was delighted to have the opportunity to showcase these celebrated authors in our own Dick and Jane LeVan Theatre.
The authors all read from their current works, and engaged in a question and answer session with the 50 attendees, representative of our local and TCS communities.
More information about these authors, their books and other IFOA events can be found at http://www.litontour.com/.
