Trinity College School students enjoyed an early start to the winter season in Lake Louise over the November Break. Heading west to find the first ski tracks of the year, a group consisting of Mexican, German, Bermudian and Canadian students hit the slopes of Lake Louise.
Basking in the scenery of this UNESCO World Heritage Site, these fortunate participants made the most of early season skiing and some world-class hospitality. The Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise served as our home base. Wonderful food, including a full fondue meal at the Walliser Stube, revitalized a group of excited snow sports enthusiasts.
Each day saw more flakes fall from the sky. As a group we enjoyed sharing conversations on the chairlift, meals at the various restaurants in the hotel, movie night and a moonlit walk by the shores of Lake Louise. The international flavour of this group afforded all a unique perspective on this wonderful location.
This serves as a good precursor as the best skiers in the world will be descending on this ski venue in order to compete in the first North American event on the World Cup circuit within a couple of weeks. Next year will mark the third annual trip to Lake Louise over the November Break. Students are encouraged to begin thinking about this breathtaking opportunity.
