With our November Trinity In Action event behind us, it is time to reflect on the elements that make such an event so positive for prospective families. Time and time again, we hear from parents and prospective students that their love for TCS began during their initial tour of campus, and the insightful information provided by our student tour guides gave them a true sense of what life at TCS is really like. What makes our Trinity In Action events so successful are the fabulous MasterKey tour guides comprised of our very own TCS students.

“We were very impressed with the campus and to hear all about what TCS has to offer. The day was informative and fun, providing a good sense of what it is to be part of the TCS community.” -TIA Attendee

The MasterKey programme is one of the many leadership opportunities offered to students at Trinity College School. Each year, students are chosen and trained to work with the School’s admissions office as members of the MasterKey team. These students are given many different responsibilities throughout the School including assisting with Trinity In Action days and acting as tour guides and hosts for prospective students and their families. They are the “face of TCS” for visiting families.

MasterKey students provide knowledgeable and extensive tours of the campus, highlighted by personal accounts and stories. These students must first learn about all facets of the School, including the rich TCS history that dates back to 1865. TCS is one of the oldest boarding schools in Canada, so the stories and historical accounts that lay beneath its walls are plentiful. Many questions are asked during a tour from – “What is the meaning of the Irrevocable Clock?”, to, “When was the Memorial Chapel built?” – and our MasterKey members are always prepared with an answer. They show prospective students what a unique and fun community TCS is.

Our MasterKey tour guides are living examples of our close-knit community, proving that although the 100 acre campus may seem big, the relationships formed here help to make the School feel small and safe. TCS is a home away from home for students, especially our boarders, who hail from over 32 countries around the world.
