On Saturday, January 14th, members of Trinity College School’s Nordic ski team travelled to Kawartha Nordic Ski Club for their first official practice on snow!

The mild winter weather has been extremely challenging for the team, and this weekend travel opportunity was invaluable. Despite the –24 degree temperature and wind chill, the welcome sunshine and excellent conditions made for a fabulous first day on the trails.

Senior skiers enjoyed a long ski on the track, while those new to the sport were able to try their skills and equipment out. With 13 km of groomed ski trails, Saturday was exceptional, and the coaches were extremely impressed with the level of commitment, spirit and skill of the team.

On Tuesday, January 17th, the team headed once again to the Kawartha Nordic trails. Trail conditions were excellent and despite the freezing rain students had a fantastic day working on step turns and tackling downhills and uphills.

It is shaping up to be a great season!
