Students in the Grade 12 music programme at Trinity College School had the chance to share their immense talent during the Winter Music Recital on Thursday, January 26th in the Dick and Jane LeVan Theatre.

Among the performers were: Bekah Bergin (piano), Cam Byers (piano), Yael De La Cruz Balboa (piano), Brady Kleinschroth (saxophone), Irene Lee (flute), Spencer Ritchie (percussion), Chirag Sheth (trombone) and Jennifer Wen (piano). Several of the students were accompanied by Joanne McLennan, the School’s private lesson piano teacher.

In addition to performing their chosen works, the students also had to introduce the work to the audience after having researched their composer’s history and repertoire. The audience of family and friends was very appreciative of the hour-long concert.

“The kids all performed extremely well,” said TCS music teacher Ron Parker. “The recital is a wonderful event because it is the culmination of the first term's work in classical music studies and in many cases features the students’ very best work to date as musicians.” He added that during the second term the class will be studying contemporary music and jazz music.
