Written by Alan Menken and Howard Ashman (the team behind Disney’s The Little Mermaid and Beauty and the Beast), Little Shop of Horrors is one of the longest-running off-Broadway shows in history. It tells the story of Seymour Krelborn, a clerk in a skid row flower shop who, following an eclipse, learns that one of his plants has very special powers. On the downside, the plant also requires a steady diet of human blood to survive. As the plant grows so does Seymour’s fame. At the same time, he finds himself doing battle with a sadistic dentist to win the hand of his beloved Audrey. Spoofing the sci-fi films of the 1950s, Little Shop of Horrors blends dark humour with great songs such as Somewhere That’s Green, Skid Row and Suddenly, Seymour.
Tickets are $15 each ($10 for students) and can be ordered online by clicking here. Doors open at 7:00 p.m. and the curtain will rise promptly at 7:30 p.m.
