TCS hosts Toronto Wind Orchestra workshop

The Toronto Wind Orchestra held an educational workshop for TCS students Thursday, November 2 in LeVan Hall which was deemed a terrific success.

In an early session with Greg Samek, musicians responded to his direction with great enthusiasm which carried on as the workshop progressed throughout the morning.

Led by music director Tony Gomes, the Toronto Wind Orchestra includes some of that city's finest freelance performers, many of whom perform in musicals, orchestras and chamber ensembles contributing to the vibrant Toronto music scene. An important component of their programme is educational outreach with young musicians, and their workshops allow students to perform alongside some of the best wind musicians in Canada.

On Thursday, November 16, internationally known vocal teacher Elaine Overholt will hold a workshop with students in the Year 2 vocal music course and Trinity Vocal Jazz performers.
