Day girls raise more than $4,300 with annual cake auction

The young ladies of Rigby and Wright House held their annual cake auction beginning with a special chapel service on Tuesday, January 30th. The various cakes, each made with incredible skill and imagination, were paraded up the chapel aisle before the bidding wars began. In many cases, several students banded together to put in significant bids to the live auction, with all proceeds going to charity.

After the chapel service, the fundraising continued with a silent cake auction held in the School's main foyer. Students, faculty and staff placed bids, and the total received helped this year's auction raise $4,312, well above last year's grand total of $3,322.50. The charities to which funds are being donated will be announced at a future date.

At last Friday morning's chapel service, the winner of the "jelly bean counting contest" was named, with Year 4 student Olivia Bannock walking away with the grand prize.

Congratulations to the young ladies of Rigby and Wright Houses, as well as their housemasters, on a successful auction again this year.
