Littleside soccer wins CISAA gold

Trinity College School’s Littleside boys soccer team captured gold in the Conference of Independent Schools Athletic Association (CISAA) Championships, hosted at Ridley College on Saturday, November 3rd.

The day began with a semi-final match against Greenwood College School. Both TCS and Greenwood had finished first overall in their respective conferences (TCS in the east conference and GCS in the central conference). The Bears beat Greenwood 5-1 to advance to the final against Royal St. George’s College, who had beat Ridley 4-2 in the other semi-final.

TCS scored the opening goal in the second minute of the final thanks to Ayo Eyesan, but RSGC levelled the game 10 minutes later. With five minutes remaining in the first half, Felix Flessa scored a long range driver to give TCS the lead. The Bears dominated the second half but failed to finish their chances until the 70th minute when Mitchell Wong went through to score the final goal. TCS won the match, 3-1.

The coaches – Mr. David Brown and Mr. Andrew Petrolito – are beyond proud of the players, and not just for what they achieved on the field. They all demonstrated punctuality with practices and departure times, a passion for the game of soccer, and a desire to learn and grow as players.
