TCS swimmers golden at provincial championships

The Trinity College School Senior School swim team had an outstanding performance at the Ontario Federation of School Athletic Associations (OFSAA) provincial championships held March 5th and 6th at the Toronto PanAm Centre. When the waves had settled, our Senior girls returned to campus as Ontario champions! Our Junior girls also had a tremendous showing as silver medalists, and the TCS team as a whole finished fifth out of 327 schools at the meet.

Our relay teams led the way, with the Junior girls medley relay earning gold, and the Senior girls medley relay capturing silver.

Individually, Andrew Youssef placed second in the Senior boys 200m freestyle race, while Taylor Kirkaldy and Jana Johnson each earned bronze medals, in the Senior girls 100m freestyle and Senior girls 50m butterfly, respectively.

Other individual results included:

  • Taylor Kirkaldy – 4th in Senior girls 50m freestyle
  • Leah Chesney – 4th in Senior girls 100m freestyle; 10th in Senior girls 50m freestyle
  • Andrew Youssef – 5th in Senior boys 50m butterfly
  • Lindsay Smith – 6th in Junior girls 50m butterfly; 7th in Jr girls 50m freestyle
  • Amy Topshee – 8th in Senior girls 100m backstroke; 11th in Senior girls individual medley
  • Kit Cheung – 8th in Senior boys 200m freestyle; 6th in Senior boys 100m backstroke
  • Olivia Girimonte – 8th in Junior girls 50m backstroke; 16th in Junior girls 50m breaststroke
  • Fiona Shearing – 9th in Senior girls 200m freestyle; 15th in Senior girls 100m breaststroke
