Outdoor Excursions course wraps up with Haliburton Highlands adventure

Students in the Grade 11 Outdoor Excursions course (PAD3O-T) at Trinity College School wrapped up their year of adventure with their third and final trip from May 11th to 14th. The students travelled to Haliburton Highlands Water Trails, located just southwest of Algonquin Provincial Park.

The group camped on Ernest Lake, on a great site, and students undertook a day trip to a nearby lake to fish. This side trip involved a particularly difficult portage and the students really rose to the occasion, making it a highlight of the trip. Although they didn’t have any luck catching their dinner, students particularly enjoyed cooking their food over the campfire throughout their camping experience.

The weather was good for the majority of the trip, with the exception of Monday, when it rained all day. Nonetheless, the students remained positive throughout their entire journey.
