Guild volunteers honoured at 117th annual general meeting

The Trinity College School Parents’ Guild and Headmaster Stuart Grainger welcomed parents to the guild’s Volunteer Appreciation Breakfast and AGM, the morning of Thursday, June 6th in Osler Hall.

Dozens of parents enjoyed a delicious breakfast, after which the 117th Annual General Meeting of the TCS Parents’ Guild took place. TCS is very proud to have the oldest active guild in Canada. Mr. Grainger expressed his gratitude to the many parents for their loyal volunteer efforts and time spent enhancing the lives of all our students.

Highlights of the meeting included two faculty guest speakers. Alison Elliott, the School’s environmental coordinator, talked about the Barbara Winsor Piccini Outdoor Classroom, and the positive impact it is having at the Junior School. The guild played a leadership role in fundraising to support this renewed space. As well, Greg MacPherson, from the social sciences department, spoke about and displayed an archaeology dig kit for a new course at TCS this fall, Introduction to Anthropology, Psychology and Sociology. This kit was among the many “wish list” items funded by the guild this year to support the living and learning environment at TCS.

TCS Parents’ Guild President Janet Fox P’20 presented the annual donation of $10,000, to Mr. Grainger to support the TCS Parents’ Guild Bursary. The 2019-2020 guild executive was announced and all members are looking forward to an exciting year ahead.
