Bigside Bears place second in TCS volleyball tournament

Trinity College School’s three teams put on a show for spectators as they played host to the third annual TCS Invitational Girls Volleyball Tournament, December 13th and 14th.

Bigside went undefeated in pool play and won its semi-final match against Haliburton Highlands SS, 2-0. In a great final match against Ridley College, the Bears pushed the game to a third set before falling short to take second place in the eight-team Senior event. Over the past three weeks, Bigside has won the Queen’s University tournament as well as winning two CISAA league matches and now placing second in our own tournament. The season is off to an amazing start.

Middleside played its best games of the season during the tournament and improved greatly over the course of two days of action against Senior teams from other schools. Among the highlights, Middleside posted its first ever win in defeating Calvary Christian Academy from Carleton Place in the playoffs. The Middleside Bears finished sixth overall, really holding their own playing up a level.

Littleside had a great tournament at the Junior level, finishing third out of the field of 10 teams. This young team showed real improvement, as the tournament represented the players’ first games this season. Three days after the tournament, Littleside travelled to St. John’s-Kilmarnock to officially open the CISAA league season.
