The “TCS My 5” and reinforcing healthy habits

As part of the School’s efforts to maintain a healthy environment, we are sharing the “TCS My 5.” At the bottom of this newsletter, parents will find a graphic that shows five important steps to contribute to community health. These messages will be reinforced at the School, particularly in these opening weeks of classes, and we appreciate parents’ support in reminding students of these crucial steps:

1. Stay home if you are ill – Complete the health screening form daily. If day students are feeling at all unwell, they should stay home and boarding students should contact the TCS health centre promptly. Students who are ill may participate in classes remotely via TCS Connect, if feeling well enough to do so.

2. Wash your hands – Before entering buildings, before and after eating or using the washroom, before and after putting on or taking off your mask, and anytime you touch your face, sneeze or cough, wash your hands with soap and water or a Health Canada approved alcohol-based hand sanitizer. If in doubt, wash your hands!

3. Wear a mask – While inside any buildings or outside when unable to maintain a 2 metre distance and/or when in transit, wear a non-medical mask.

4. Keep your distance – Stay a minimum of 2 metres apart from others and adhere to directional signage around the School.

5. Stay vigilant – We all play an important role in maintaining the health of our community. Understanding that complacency might set in over time, a reminder that we must remain committed to taking the necessary steps to keep our community healthy!
