Winter athletics term produces six Bigside tie recipients

Last fall, 32 student-athletes earned Bigside ties, a recognition of commitment to Trinity College School’s co-curricular competitive athletics program. And this winter term, five more students added their names to the list of Bigside tie recipients.

On Monday, March 29th during morning online assembly, their names were announced. Grade 11 students earning Bigside ties are Emma Aitchison-Madill, Alex Bedard and Nicole Grant. Grade 12 recipients are Grace Beggs, Graham Hall and Devon Moran.

Ties are awarded to athletes upon the completion of their third season on a Bigside team during their TCS careers. To earn a tie, athletes also must satisfy all of the criteria for Colours, such as valuing team goals over personal recognition, and demonstrating respect to others. This achievement is especially remarkable given that these students have displayed dedication and leadership in athletics at a time when competitive games are not available to them. Notably, even when winter term athletics moved online in January due to government mandate, these students continued to display a love of their sport and commitment to their teammates.

Congratulations to these student-athletes for their achievements!
