  • Campus comes alive with friendship and fun on day two of opening week

As opening week continued at Trinity College School on Wednesday, September 7th, our Junior School students, new day families and returning Grade 10 and 11 boarders were welcomed to campus.

Over at Boulden House, students in Grades 5 through 8 dove back into classes and got (re)acquainted with the daily routine. Head of Junior School Jennifer Reid was enthusiastic about the start of the new school year: “What a wonderful first day for our students and faculty. From the moment we opened our doors this morning, the hallways have been filled with smiling faces, happy laughter and a brewing excitement for what’s to come. Returning to Osler Hall for lunch was definitely a highlight, and everyone is excited to be back, learning in person alongside caring friends and adults.”

New Senior School day families were greeted by the admissions team Wednesday morning, and then had the chance to hear from Head of Trinity College School Stuart Grainger before heading off to their respective houses for an information session. New students met their “buddies” (Senior students who will answer their questions and help them to become oriented to life at TCS in the coming days), and took part in a campus tour and advisor meeting before wrapping up the day with lunch in Osler Hall.

For returning boarding students, the morning included moving back into their residences, followed by an afternoon of fun activities on the fields, including spikeball and KanJam. After dinner, heads of each boarding house held meetings to welcome back their returning residents and get everyone prepared to roll out the red carpet for our new boarders as they move onto campus on Thursday!

Head of Senior School – Student Support Jennifer Paziuk says the opening days have highlighted the value of being together. “We are thrilled to be welcoming students to our beautiful campus this week! Enthusiasm, positivity and optimism are palpable among students and staff alike. Our student leaders and Grade 12 class are engaging new and returning students in a variety of activities to build and celebrate community. As students join us from a range of online and in-person educational experiences over the past few years, we are grateful to be together, build and rebuild relationships, and look forward to a very promising year.”
