  • Sports Update: Soccer, Volleyball, Field Hockey

In addition to the successful OFSAA showing for our Senior School harriers team, many fall sports have been concluding their seasons over the past week.

Under-14 Soccer: The Under-14 soccer team wrapped up its undefeated season by winning the CISAA Championships on Tuesday, November 1st. In front of a home crowd, the Bears edged St. Andrew’s College, 4-1, to take the title.

Under-12 Soccer: The Under-12 soccer team won a very special honour this year. While soccer at this level is geared towards skill development and games are all “friendlies,” the TCS team was named the “Champions of Character.” This award signifies the team displaying the most respect, kindness, honesty, fairness and improvement this season.

Volleyball: The Senior School volleyball teams wrapped up their season with fun games against a 10-member staff squad on November 4th. Both the Bigside boys and Littleside boys took part. Staff got the best of Littleside, 2-1, in their three-match set (each set going to 15); while Bigside won all three sets, albeit with a close third set ending 25-21.

Field Hockey: The field hockey teams also ended the season on a high note by facing off against staff on Monday, November 7th. Twenty staff members donned their mouth guards and picked up their field hockey sticks to join in the game against a mix of players from the Bigside, Middleside and two Littleside teams. A special thank you to retired teacher and field hockey coach Rob Hollett for joining us to provide some tips and safety advice to the staff team, as well as referee the game.
