Ten students earn berths in DECA provincials
  • Ten students earn berths in DECA provincials

With a return to in-person competition for DECA events this year, 30 Trinity College School students were eager to join more than 1,500 peers at the Nor-Eastern/Private School Regionals competition on November 27th at Sinclair Secondary School in Whitby.

DECA Ontario is the largest DECA association in the world. Its mandate is to “instill professionalism and prepare youth to respond to authentic business cases and market demands” through its conferences and competitions. Students in the TCS DECA Chapter meet regularly to hone their skills in preparation for the annual competition schedule.

Ten TCS students qualified from the regional competition to compete at the provincial event to be held in February in Toronto. The students who will be representing the School, and their categories, are:

  • Terry Wu – Accounting
  • Tanay Langhe – Principles of Finance
  • Arjun Sharma – Principles of Hospitality and Tourism
  • Gabriel Arany-Hoummady and Nicholas Damiani – Sports and Entertainment Marketing Team Decision Making
  • Anna Dobrinski and Madison Miller – Business Law and Ethics Team Decision Making
  • William Liu and Nicolas Shi – Buying and Merchandising Team Decision Making
  • Jun Hong and Connor Rodgers – Financial Services Team Decision Making

Congratulations to all members who competed, but especially those who are now one step closer to qualifying for the International Career Development Conference, which will be held in Orlando in April.

Special thanks to Ms. Rebecca Albion and Ms. Brandy Carriere, who helped provide guidance and support to the students at regionals.
