Winter activities warm spirits
  • Winter activities warm spirits

Trinity College School’s Senior School students have kept active and had a great time doing so with recent student-led events.

The evening of Friday, February 3rd, the leaders of Orchard House and Wright House hosted Sports Night in the Arnold Massey ’55 Athletic Centre. Wearing jerseys or school spirit wear, students had the chance to face off in games including 3-on-3 basketball, spike ball and ping pong. Others gathered to make signs which they used to cheer on our Bigside girls volleyball team as it took on local St. Mary CSS in an exhibition match.

Then, on Monday, February 6th, the prefects used morning chapel service as a chance to drum up house pride in advance of the afternoon Winter Olympics. Houses faced off in a series of events, held in the Peter Campbell Memorial Rink, including skating and hockey shooting skills challenges, as well as the popular ice sledding race!

Winter Olympics was followed by Skate Day, with all students invited to take to the ice in helmets and skates to enjoy some fun with friends. For several students, this was their first time ever to try the quintessentially Canadian activity of ice skating. A cozy “chill room” was set up for those wishing to take a break from the action. And there was plenty of time to enjoy a cup of hot chocolate and chat with peers throughout the afternoon.

Thank you to our student leaders for their efforts in organizing these fun, community-building events that certainly warmed up everyone’s spirits during these cold winter months.
