October is dyslexia awareness month and Dyslexia Canada notes that 1 in 5 children struggle with this hereditary disability that makes it difficult to read, write or spell. For these learners, the teacher's red pen can be a constant reminder of the lack of awareness and support needed for them to be successful in school and in life. The third annual "Mark it Read" campaign aims to change the focus from the "red pen" to reading success.

Wednesday, October 21st will be Mark it Read for Dyslexia Day at TCS, and students and staff are encouraged to wear the colour red to show their support.
