If you could have every student at TCS read one book, what would it be and why?
The Road by Cormac McCarthy. While the post-apocalyptic, dystopic storyline might seem frightfully depressing, I believe that the story is in fact uplifting. The hope and love between the father and son is immensely moving. Students need to appreciate how fragile our planet is and how tenuous our relationship to it is.

Where in the world would you most want to revisit and why?
Laos and Nepal would be first on the list. Arranging to have a long boat take me down the Mekong River and trekking to Annapurna base camp were two memorable experiences.
