Paul Godfrey ’52 Memorial Pavilion

Help us create the Godfrey Pavilion to honour a TCS legend!

On October 9, 2014 TCS lost one of its legends when Paul Godfrey ’52 passed away just prior to his 80th birthday. Paul, affectionately nicknamed “the Goo,” loved TCS and over his 36 year career as a teacher, housemaster, guidance counsellor and coach, he befriended thousands in the TCS community. Now, we want to create a landmark on campus in his memory.

As Paul was known for his enthusiasm for cricket, we will be constructing the Godfrey Pavilion beside Russel House and adjacent to the Ron Reynolds Cricket Pitch. Our goal is to have this project finished for September and to officially dedicate it during Reunion Weekend 2017.

In addition to providing shelter for our cricket team, it will be available for our soccer and field hockey teams and the fans. This area has also become the finish line for our cross-country running events and the Oxford Cup. It will be a huge benefit to have a permanent structure in place to house the necessary technology to record runners as they cross the finish line. TCS is hosting the OFSAA Cross-Country Championship this fall, expecting close to 2,000 runners and thousands of spectators from schools across Ontario.

Paul generously left a bequest to TCS in his will and several generous alumni have already made gifts in his memory, but we need your help to ensure we can complete this project. With the costs estimated at $115,000, we still have funds left to raise.

If you are interested in making a contribution towards the Godfrey Pavilion,  visit or contact the philanthropy & alumni office at 905-885-1295 or Thank you for your generosity!
