A key theme of the opening weeks at Trinity College School is the ways in which the entire community works together to create a warm welcome for all students, and their families. This spirit of kindness and belonging was on full display on Wednesday, September 4th during the first day of Junior School classes, as well as orientation for new Senior School day families.
Over at Boulden House, students and staff alike were eager to start a new school year! Students were thrilled to catch up with old friends and begin building relationships with their new classmates. At the same time, everyone settled into their classrooms and got into the daily routine, including favourite activities like recess and lunch in Osler Hall.
“With the start of a new school year upon us, the Junior School staff and faculty are filled with excitement and anticipation,” said Head of Junior School Jennifer Reid. “Our classrooms are ready to welcome eager young minds, and our faculty and staff are ready to inspire and guide each student on their unique path. Here’s to a year of learning, laughter and growth!”
Wednesday was a busy morning for Senior School day students with new families being greeted by the admissions team outside LeVan Hall before taking part in a welcome session led by educational leaders, laying the foundation for the year ahead. Then, families had the chance to meet with heads of the day houses – Orchard, Rigby, Wright and Hodgetts. A key feature of the onboarding process for new families is the role returning students play; all returning day students were engaged with helping our new families to become familiar with campus, getting set up with any IT services or touching base with guidance, and learning more about co-curricular programs.
After lunch, day families headed home and the focus turned to the boarding houses – Burns, Bickle, Bethune, Ketchum, Scott and Brent – with returning Grade 10 and 11 students spending the afternoon unpacking and getting settled back into their dorm rooms. The admissions team hosted a meeting of all returning boarders to help them prepare for the following day, when they will play an important role in welcoming new boarding families to campus.
The day was capped off with an enjoyable evening social for returning boarders on the terraces.
What an incredible start it has been to the 2024-2025 academic year!
