Christopher H. Brown ’63 P’89, Trustee
After graduating from Trinity College School in 1963, Chris received his Bachelor of Arts from Queen’s University in 1967. He received his ICD.D. designation from the Institute of Corporate Directors in 2007.
Chris entered the securities industry in 1973 following five years with IBM Canada. He began in institutional sales with Cochran Murray, a predecessor firm of Merrill Lynch Canada. Later firms included Nesbitt Thomson and Bunting Warburg. In 1993 he left Bunting Warburg to join Toronto Dominion Securities Inc. as managing director, institutional equities and structured finance. In August 1999, he moved into income products and proprietary trading, running trading desks in Toronto and New York. From 2005 until 2010, he was with Kensington Capital Partners Limited, a private equity firm, where he was chief investment and chief compliance officer of the investment counsel subsidiaries.
Chris served as a member of the TCS Board of Governors from 1999 to 2003 and was a member of TCS Fund Inc. and information technology committees of the board. He is currently a member of the TCS board’s finance committee and also serves as a current member of the TCS Foundation board and sits on the investment and finance committees of the TCS Foundation.
