We are pleased to announce that Cultural Awareness Group’s annual fair trade sale, held in partnership with Ten Thousand Villages, is returning to TCS! Parents are invited to attend the sale on Monday, November 21st, in Cirne Commons from 10:00 a.m. until 3:45 p.m. There will be a wide selection of fair trade items available to order, and students and parents can charge orders to their TCS accounts.
Orders placed on November 21st will be packaged by our students when they volunteer at the Cobourg location of Ten Thousand Villages during Week Without Walls (November 29th-December 1st). Items will be ready for pick-up at TCS in classroom 104 or office 107 at the following times:
- Friday, December 2nd following the Week Without Walls afternoon programming (approx. 3:15 p.m.)
- Monday, December 5th, 10:00-10:25 a.m.
- Tuesday, December 6th, 1:35-2:20 p.m..
We hope you can join us for this special shopping event. Browse crafts, home decor, books, games, toys, jewelry, chocolate, coffee and other food products, musical instruments, clothing and one-of-a-kind products created by Ten Thousand Villages’ global partners from countries such as Colombia, Philippines, India and more. Find the perfect gift for that hard-to-buy-for person on your Christmas list, for Hanukkah, a birthday or even something special for yourself! In doing so, support fair trade principles that promote fair labour practices and economic sustainability for producers.
Online Ordering Option
For parents unable to join us in person, there is an option to order online via the Ten Thousand Villages website for pick-up at TCS. To ensure you are not charged for shipping and your order is delivered to TCS:
- Once you have selected all the items you wish to order, go to the “Cart” page and leave a “Note” that your order is for delivery to TCS. Important: Leaving a note can only be done on the CART page, not the final checkout page.
- Proceed to the checkout page and select “In store Pickup” so that you will not be charged for shipping.
Online orders for TCS pick-up must be placed no later than Sunday, November 27th. Visit the Ten Thousand Villages online store at https://villagescobourg.ca/.
