Golf – Co-ed

Competition

The season starts in late-April and finishes at the end of May. Our team plays in the Conference of Independent Schools Athletic Association (CISAA), a league made up of independent schools from across Ontario. The league currently has four tournaments for league play and then the CISAA Championship tournament after the May long weekend. The team is sub-divided into three groups: Junior boys (under 16); Senior boys; and girls. Typically five golfers from each of these groups will represent the School at any given tournament. Events normally draw 120-150 golfers from 12-16 schools.

Coach

Keith Brooks
Mr. Brooks has been a golf coach at the School since 2017. He is a guidance counsellor at TCS.

Facilities

TCS golfers take a special short-term membership at a local golf club that features a championship course and excellent practice facilities. This enables them to work during regular practice sessions, and even allows open play as members on weekends.

Development

  • 2-3 practices per week
  • 5 tournaments, including the CISAA final tournament

Program Successes

TCS Bears golf has been a consistent presence in CISAA golf for many years. The School managed a "three-peat" Senior Boys Championship string in 1995-1997, and also won the girls title in 2003. In 2018, Spencer Grainger won top Junior boys golfer in CISAA.
