Track and Field – Co-ed

Competition

The high school season starts in early April and finishes in early June. Our team competes in the Conference of Independent Schools Athletic Association (CISAA), a league made up of independent schools from across Ontario. Our team attends four training meets and 2-3 qualifying meets for the Ontario Federation of School Athletic Associations (OFSAA) Championships.

Coaches

Matthew Fox
Mr. Fox has coached track and field for over five years, working primarily with the middle distance crew. He has his NCCP Level 1 Coaching Certification. Mr. Fox also coaches harriers in the fall term and is a dedicated math teacher at TCS.

Jodie Fisher
Mrs. Fisher has over 10 years of experience coaching runners on both the cross country and track and field teams at TCS. She focusses on middle distance and hurdle events during track season. Mrs. Fisher is also a chemistry teacher at the School.

Justin Murphy
Mr. Murphy is a NCCP Level 1 certified coach and has three years of experience coaching track and field. He enjoys sharing his enthusiasm for both fitness and physics at TCS.

Facilities

Our team enjoys the running trails on and around campus, and uses a local high school track for hard workouts.

Development

  • Five practices per week, increasing intensity and mileage each week
  • Three training meets and two qualifying meets for OFSAA

Program Successes

  • OFSAA participation every year since 2010
  • 2006 – 4th place finish in OFSAA 400m hurdles
  • 2014 – Silver medal in OFSAA pole vault, 6th place finish in OFSAA high jump
