Long Weekend Program

Capture Canada

Capture Canada is a comprehensive long weekend program for students who are unable to return home, or wishing to travel with the School, when TCS is closed during the School’s five long weekends. The program offers staff-supervised travel and strives to balance engaging activities with opportunities for students to rest and recharge. With a breadth of destinations, activities and options, students will enjoy some quality time off-campus with peers. Program offerings and other details are listed below.

To register, please contact Michelle Bishop (mbishop@tcs.on.ca) who will provide registration documents via email. Please note, a non-refundable deposit is required at the time of registration. Space is limited, and registration is granted on a first-come, first-served basis. Please note the individual registration deadlines for each trip below.

Thanksgiving Break (October 6-10, 2022): Deerhurst Resort, Muskoka
Students will travel a few hours north to visit Deerhurst Resort in picturesque Muskoka, where they will have access to incredible activities and amenities, both indoor and outdoor. There are several restaurants on site, as well as cooking facilities within accommodations. Students will have access to a pool, fitness centre, hiking trails and more.
Price: $2,000 (To provide flexibility and choice, students will be responsible for the cost of one meal per day. Students may also choose to participate in activities that are not included in the resort package and would be responsible for additional fees. All other costs are included in the price.)
Registration closes September 29, 2022.

November Break (November 10-14, 2022): Lake Louise, Alberta
Students will visit Banff, the jewel in the crown of Canada's National Parks, for a weekend of skiing, snowboarding and relaxation at the Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise in the Sunshine Valley ski area.
Price: $3,500 (To provide flexibility and choice, students will be responsible for the cost of all meals. Students wishing to take their own ski or snowboard equipment will be responsible for additional luggage fees. All other costs are included in the price.)
Registration closes October 8, 2022.

February Break (February 16-20, 2023): Quebec City and Montréal, Quebec
Students will travel to Hôtel Valcartier to enjoy their indoor waterpark, snow park, and wonderful restaurants for two days. From there, students will travel to Montréal to explore the city. Students will enjoy great food, shopping, a visit to the biodome and other Montréal attractions. If there is interest, we can provide an opportunity for students to visit McGill University and/or Concordia University.
Price: $2,500 (To provide flexibility and choice, students will be responsible for the cost of meals throughout the trip. All other costs are included in the price.)

Easter Break (April 6-10, 2023): Halifax, Nova Scotia
Students will fly into Halifax to spend two nights seeing the sights and enjoying the amenities of downtown Halifax. On Saturday, students will travel to White Point Resort for two days of relaxed, ocean-side accommodations. On this trip, students will visit Peggy’s Cove, Citadel Hill and other popular east-coast attractions. While downtown, students will have time for shopping and dining. While at the resort, students will have time to rest, recharge and spend time outdoors. If there is interest, we can provide an opportunity for students to visit Dalhousie University on this trip.
Price: $2,750 (To provide flexibility and choice, students will be responsible for the cost of approximately half of the meals throughout the trip. All other costs are included in the price.)

May Break (May 18-22, 2023): OWL Rafting & Resort, Ottawa
Travel to Ottawa River for an exciting white water rafting adventure. Students will have the opportunity to relax, as well as enjoy activities and amenities such as canoes, kayaks, beach volleyball, evening bonfires and more while based at OWL Rafting Wilderness Resort.
Price: $1,750 (All trip costs are included in this price, including all meals.)
