2015-2016 Academic Dates
Register by September 26th for the 2011-2012 French exchange
|Wednesday, 07 September 2011|
Trinity College School students have the opportunity to spend two weeks in Paris as part of the biannual exchange between TCS and École St. Martin de France. Students between the ages of 15 and 18 (Grades 10, 11,12) are invited to apply for this exciting opportunity to not only practice French language skills, but also immerse themselves in the culture of France!
Registration deadline is Monday, September 26th. Families can click here to download the information package, and students can check out the information board outside Room 104 of the W.A. Johnson Classroom Block. Interested students/parents are invited to contact Mr. David Wills (email@example.com or 905-885-3217 ext. 1326) or Mrs. Rachel Stephens (firstname.lastname@example.org or 905-885-3217 ext. 1311) with questions or to register.
The first leg of the exchange takes place in mid-October 2011 when TCS students will welcome their French partners for a two-week stay here in Canada (either in boarding residences or day family homes). Then, during March Break 2012, TCS students and faculty chaperones will head to France for a wonderful two-week adventure, including trips to major tourist sites around Paris and Versailles, as well as the chance to learn in a French classroom.
The trip is very affordable, with costs expected to be in the $1,800-$2,000 range (including flights, insurance, group excursions, etc., all of which are arranged by the School). Students need not be fluent in French (although some knowledge of the language will be helpful) to take part in this exchange. You only need to have a desire to learn more about life in another culture and to make friendships with students from France as well as your TCS classmates that will last well beyond your exchange experience!
