Library

Our centrally located and spacious Senior School library was renovated and re-opened in 2015 as part of the Cirne Hall construction project. A librarian and two library assistants are available to help students and support teachers during the academic day, offering instruction in finding and evaluating relevant, quality resources. Teachers and stewards (student volunteers) supervise during evenings and Sunday evenings, ensuring that the warm and welcoming space is available for quiet study.

The library’s collection of almost 10,000 volumes includes materials from all areas of study. New fiction, non-fiction and reference books are added to the collection each year, in print and digital form; the library hosts its own ebook & audiobook collection. The library subscribes to a number of academic databases, providing access to thousands of scholarly articles.

The library uses an integrated system to catalogue and circulate materials; students can search for books, renew materials they have checked out, and place holds for books online or using the app. Additional resources include a printer/photocopier/scanner and a tinker table. Library programs include weekly book clubs, frequent contests, an annual reading marathon and more. Student suggestions for new books and innovative programmes are welcome and encouraged.
