Groundskeeper

Trinity College School is currently seeking a dynamic and creative Groundskeeper to join our facilities team. This is a full-time day shift position that may require Saturday scheduling. This position reports to the Manager - Facilities Services and is accountable for the operation, maintenance and repair of lawn equipment, including riding mowers, snow plowing, snowblowers, UTVs, and various cutting tools. As a member of a diverse team, the successful candidate must be a team player and strong collaborator.

Duties and responsibilities

  • Observe all applicable health and safety regulations and ensure that all work is performed in full compliance with standard operating procedures, work instructions and established safety standards
  • Perform day-to-day checks of equipment and machinery as required
  • Snow removal as directed by the Senior Groundskeeper
  • Deliver and maintain the organic bin program to meet campus needs
  • Sports fields and harrier trial preparation and marking
  • Perform day-to-day checks of grounds equipment and machinery
  • Assist with various school functions and event set-ups
  • Maintain sporting equipment used from season to season (painting goal frames, etc.)
  • Assist with tree removal and garbage pick-up
  • Resurfacing, flooding, and maintaining Arena ice 
  • Lock and door hardware maintenance; troubleshoot and repair door closers, panic bars and hinges
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Ability to operate a variety of equipment and tools
  • Experience in fence building, walkway installation, and sodding
  • Lock and door hardware repair would be an asset
  • Knowledge of sports field dimensions would be an asset
  • Computer literate with experience using Microsoft Office, Google Suite, Gmail
  • Valid Class G license required
  • Willing to obtain additional qualifications, e.g. arena maintenance
