Rigby House stands atop the leader board following the second round of House Debates at Trinity College School on November 1st. Students participated in a lively debate on the resolution “that greed rules.”

Bethune House had the best result for the round with four wins (two in Junior debates and two in Senior). But Rigby House moved into the overall lead after the second round with identical records of three wins and one tie in both the Junior and Senior divisions.

The top Junior debater in round two was Carolyn Smith of Ketchum House, with 107.5 points. She was followed by Burnsite Eileen Tang in second and a third-place tie between Bethune’s Sam Eberlee and Ben Wilson of Hodgetts House. Eileen Tang joined Catherine O’Connor to give Burns top Junior team honours.

On the Senior side, Catherine Morrison of Wright House earned 111.5 points, followed in order by Orchard’s Ryan Williams, Bethunite Zack Chauvin and Steven Wei of Bickle House. Catherine also took top Senior team honours for Wright House with her partner, Rachel Butler. Runners-up Ryan Williams and Walker Jibb of Orchard House were not far behind.
