Guild members help build holiday spirit

The executive of the Trinity College School Parents’ Guild has had a busy few weeks heading into the December Break, with a series of initiatives that have helped build holiday spirit.

On November 30th, a group of parents gathered at Baltimore Valley Garden Centre to create festive gnome porch decorations. Using evergreen boughs, under the guidance of nursery staff, the group constructed wonderful winter displays.

Just two days later, a team of parent volunteers began the process of transforming campus for the holidays, spending hours decorating in the Memorial Chapel, Junior School, Cirne Hall and Osler Hall. One week later, on December 7th, the poinsettias which had been donated by generous TCS families arrived to be added to the décor. The school community is very grateful to the guild volunteers, and to chapel co-chairs Kerri Healey P’25 and Debbie Fingas P’21 ’23, for their efforts to make the School such a warm and welcoming place for this festive season!

Many guild executive members also joined Junior School parent volunteers to contribute to the very successful Winter Bazaar on Wednesday, December 7th, with guild marketing chair Alison Sprayson P’23 ’25 ’27 and Junior School liaison Brenda Stephenson P’25 ’28 organizing the event.

On Thursday, December 8th, the guild general meeting was another highlight of the season. Parents enjoyed breakfast in Osler Hall and had the chance to hear from Head of Trinity College School Stuart Grainger, as well as Senior School co-curricular program directors Kim Vojnov and Sally McKay-LePage. The meeting even featured a tour of the visual arts wing, including the new pottery kiln!

Thank you to the guild executive and parent volunteers for all that has been done to make TCS a merry place this holiday season!
