Pause to reflect, appreciate and enjoy

Submitted by sgrainger on

The last day of school in the calendar year offers a palpable sense of excitement and anticipation. But, before we bid adieu to our active lives on campus and embrace the holiday season, let me pause and take a moment to reflect on the incredible journey we’ve had this semester.

Kids, give yourself a pat on the back!
First and foremost, let’s give your kids, our students, a well-deserved pat on the back. The challenges they faced, the lessons they learned, and the memories they created together were all embraced with a positive spirit, a sense of adventure and required resilience. It has been a very active few months! From the early mornings of September to the chilly days leading up to this winter break, each one of them has contributed to making this semester memorable.

New kids on the block
A special shout-out to those students who joined us, for the very first time, at the beginning of the school year. They walked through our doors with curiosity and trepidation, and look at them now – far more confident, engaged, and an integral part of our school community! Their journey with us has just begun, and we’re thrilled to have the opportunity to witness their continued growth in the coming months.

Reflecting on growth
It would serve all kids (and adults!) well to take a moment to think back to September. To think about goals that were set; the challenges faced; the obstacles overcome; the lessons learned from losses and the celebrations from victories, no matter how small. It is one of my great pleasures in my role to see how far our students have come since the start of the school year. Whether it’s starting to grasp or master a tough subject, forming new friendships, or discovering untapped talents, they’re all growing up in unique and remarkable ways.

A time for gratitude
The holiday season is a time for reflection, gratitude and spending precious moments with loved ones. Take this break to recharge and unwind. Whether you’re traveling to far-off destinations or enjoying a cozy staycation, may your holidays be filled with laughter, warmth and the company of those who matter most.

Looking ahead
As we bid farewell to the School for a few weeks, let’s also look ahead with anticipation. The new year brings new opportunities, new lessons and the promise of continued growth. It is my hope that we return in January with open hearts, eager minds and a commitment to making the rest of the school year a success.

So, here’s to a safe, restful and rejuvenating holiday break! May it be filled with love, laughter, and all the magic the season may bring.
