  • University tours bolster Grade 11 students’ post-secondary research

Trinity College School’s Grade 11 students took one more step on the path to post-secondary life as they took part in tours of Ontario universities on Monday, April 3rd.

This spring, students had the option to select from the University of Toronto, Metropolitan University (formerly Ryerson), Queen’s University, Western University, University of Waterloo and Wilfrid Laurier University. At each location, students were met by university tour guides who helped to answer their questions about life on campus. At the same time, they were able to see in person the institution’s facilities and get a sense of the size and composition of the university.

The tours build upon research the students have been undertaking throughout the year in their guidance sessions, as they consider potential educational and experiential paths going forward. As they transition into Grade 12 in fall 2023, students will have another opportunity to visit a different Ontario university campus and further the process of solidifying their plans for life after TCS.

Parents are encouraged to take their children to visit universities and colleges of interest, including during the summer break. Many schools have open houses or can arrange tours by contacting them through their website. And, as always, your child’s guidance counsellor is happy to answer any questions.
