Meeting TCS’s new incoming chaplain

With Maj The Revd Canon Don Aitchison sharing his plans to leave TCS at the end of the 2023-2024 academic year after 25 years of service, the School commenced a comprehensive search for Trinity College School’s next chaplain back in early February. Over the course of a few months, a chaplain hiring advisory committee comprising employees, past and current parents, alumni and board representatives, spoke with several strong candidates before identifying the best candidate to hold the post as Trinity College School’s next chaplain.

The School was delighted to announce that Reverend Deb Wilson will become Trinity College School’s chaplain as of the 2024-2025 academic year. Having visited campus earlier this spring, and meeting many students and staff at that time, on Monday, April 29th, the School welcomed Rev. Deb to the Senior School’s morning chapel service. In the months ahead, she looks forward to having the opportunity to meet many more members of the extended TCS community.

Reverend Deb is an ordained deacon in the Anglican Church of Canada and an experienced school chaplain with a demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion and belonging; she is experienced in supporting spiritual wellbeing in a multi-faith community and prioritizes community collaboration.

Most recently the chaplain at a fellow CAIS day/boarding school, and with a Master of Theological Studies, a B.A. and a diploma in Early Childhood Education, Deb is well suited to a community such as ours. In addition, Reverend Deb is already familiar with the TCS learning community as her spouse and their two children are TCS alumni.

“It is with great joy that I have accepted the role of chaplain at Trinity College School,” says Rev. Deb. “Rooted in the Anglican tradition and honouring the gift we have as a diverse community of people, I am so very excited to work together on the spiritual journey that lies before us.”

Over the next few months, our community will look forward to celebrating Father Don’s 25 years of dedicated service, as well as extending a warm welcome to Rev. Deb Wilson.
