  • H. Michael Burns ’56 honoured with new portrait for Osler Hall

In conjunction with the Alumni Chapel Service at Reunion Weekend, a new portrait was unveiled which will proudly join Trinity College School’s collection in Osler Hall. It is a privilege for the School to recognize the historic contributions and lifetime of service of H. Michael Burns ’56.

Among numerous accolades and contributions to the School, Michael was co-head prefect of the class of 1956; he has been acutely engaged in school governance since 1971; he has been actively involved in every major TCS fundraising campaign as both donor and leader; and he was the chair of the TCS Governing Body overseeing the historic introduction of co-education. Simply put, Michael exemplifies the TCS mission of “purpose and service,” and our school has been forever enhanced by his leadership.

During the dedication service, Head of Trinity College School Stuart Grainger remarked, “Everyone in this chapel, whether you know it or not, has been positively impacted by Michael. He has left an indelible impact on our school.”

Thank you to the many donors who have supported this project, as well as to the artist, David Goatley. Special thanks to George Booth ’61 and Tim Kennish ’58 for their leadership of this meaningful initiative.
